New Delhi, Ded 08: The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has extended the deadlines for stakeholders to submit comments and counter-comments on its consultation paper regarding interconnection regulations.

Originally released on November 10, the deadlines were December 8 for comments and December 22 for counter-comments. However, due to requests from industry bodies for more time, the new deadlines are now December 15 for written comments and December 29 for counter-comments.

The goal of this consultation is to gather industry feedback for updating interconnection regulations in line with advancements in telecom technology and market dynamics.

Additionally, TRAI has reported significant action against spam in the telecom sector, disconnecting over 2.1 million mobile numbers
