Tourists visiting one of Britain’s most beautiful seaside towns are being caught short after the only toilet block in the vicinity was closed down and put up for rent by the council. North Tyneside Council is appealing for a tenant to turn the loos, overlooking picturesque King Edward's Bay in Tynemouth, into a business venture. One of the tiny building's toilets must have disabled access and remain open to the public - but it suggests the rest of the block could be transformed into a shop, cafe or other "family-friendly" enterprise.
