Shubman Gill has finally opened up about his road to recovery from the serious neck injury he suffered last month. In a pre-recorded video posted by the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) on social media, Gill spoke from the Centre of Excellence (previously known as the National Cricket Academy, NCA) in Bengaluru and said he was feeling ‘much better’ after undergoing ‘quite a lot’ of skill and training sessions.

Gill was hospitalised for a day and then spent a couple of weeks at the CoE after suffering a nerve injury in his neck during the first home Test against South Africa. He batted for a bit but was ruled out of the match midway through and missed the remainder of the rubber plus the three-match ODI series.
