A mum who dismissed her hand and arm discomfort as a strained muscle was actually battling a rare and aggressive form of cancer .

Laura Isom, 58, noticed her left hand 'wasn't functioning properly' when a growth emerged on her arm, expanding within days to reach six centimetres. The mother-of-one originally assumed she had strained a muscle or tendon - attributing the discomfort to 'a touch of advancing years'.
