The Supreme Court on Monday refused a plea seeking an urgent hearing over IndiGo crisis after the airline faced massive disruptions across the country, leading to the cancellation of thousands of flights for a week.
Chief Justice of India Surya Kant said it will first see what action is forthcoming from the government. Notably, more than 4,500 IndiGo flights have been cancelled since Tuesday last week.
"We can’t run an airline," the court said while declining an urgent hearing on the plea over IndiGo crisis.
The issue was mentioned by a lawyer who told the Bench that passengers were suffering as flights were being cancelled without any prior intimation.
