Some big shoes need to be filled in Port Colborne, as Port Cares’ new executive director steps into the role after the outgoing director transitioned into retirement.
Chandra Hardeen, the organization’s new lead as of Nov. 17, comes from United Way Niagara as former director of community investment. She brings more than two decades of community service-led experience.
Hardeen’s career included work with Niagara Region, before moving on to United Way Niagara and then taking over leadership at Port Cares.
Hardeen said through work with Niagara Region’s homelessness services earlier in her career, she became aware of Port Cares and found what the agency did was “impressive.”
