Colorado will mark its 150th year of statehood in 2026, alongside the United States celebrating its 250th anniversary of independence. And while the combination of historic dates will prompt already-publicized festivities across the Centennial State, local Colorado 150 Organizing Committee Member Zebulon Miracle said there were countless efforts still in the works to mark the occasion.

They range from local events to historic register additions to drone shows to statewide initiatives. And while state and national birthdays on Aug. 1 and July 4, respectively, will have their share of fanfare, the committee hopes to keep memorable happenings in motion all year long.

“This isn’t just a one-off event,” Miracle said. “What we want this to be is a year-long celebration. We want this to create
