An Indian-origin former nurse has been found guilty of killing an Australian woman, nearly seven years after her body was recovered from an isolated beach in Queensland.

On October 22, 2018, Toyah Cordingley, a 24-year-old animal shelter volunteer, was found half-buried in sand dunes at Wangetti Beach, about 40 km north of Cairns. Authorities said the accused, Rajwinder Singh (41), had gone to the beach following an argument with his wife, carrying fruits and a kitchen knife, according to a report in Australian broadcaster ABC .

Cordingley, who was walking her dog at the time, reportedly confronted Singh after her dog barked at him, leading to an altercation. In a fit of anger, Singh allegedly stabbed her and buried her body in the sand. He also tied her dog to a tree.
