A Suffolk village has been named one of the best places to visit in the UK.

Lavenham, near Sudbury, has been included in a list of the best quaint British villages with toy-town cottages, car-free roads, and cosy pubs by travel writers at The Sun.

Describing the village, Kara Godfrey, deputy travel editor at The Sun, said: "One of my favourite villages I've visited in England is Lavenham, which is beautiful in Autumn.

"Said to be the best preserved medieval village in the UK, it is known for two buildings – the 600-year-old Crooked House and the De Vere House, which featured in the Harry Potter films."

The village has a number of great places to go out for food and drink, and was recently named as one of the best places for foodies in the country.
