Chandigarh, Dec 8: In a series of high-alert operations along the Punjab frontier, Border Security Force (BSF) troops successfully intercepted cross-border narco-smuggling, seizing over 6.6 kg of heroin, 429 grams of opium, and a DJI Air-3 drone carrying pistol components, officials said on Monday.
The BSF acted on intelligence of suspected aerial movements near Daoke village in Amritsar, recovering two large packets of heroin weighing 6.641 kg, fitted with illuminating sticks and metal loops. A separate operation near Mahawa village led to the seizure of an opium packet. In Tarn Taran, a joint operation with Punjab Police recovered a drone carrying pistol parts.
