2025 promises to be a great year for genre at awards shows, but the Golden Globes were tougher than others. Nominations for this year’s awards hit Monday morning, and while expected films such as Sinners and Frankenstein got them on the film side, as did Severance and Pluribus on the TV side, our beloved Star Wars show Andor didn’t fare as well. Diego Luna was nominated for Best Actor, but the show failed to get any other nominations, including Best Drama.

And while that’s the bad news, the genre films and shows that did well, did very well. Sinners got seven nominations, including Best Drama, Best Actor, and Best Director.
