FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WSMV) - Williamson County Schools has announced the retirement of its director of communications, Carol Birdsong.
After nearly 30 years in the district, Birdsong will be moving on in January.
School Superintendent Jason Golden announced Cory Mason as Birdsong’s successor.
The district will be moving on from “Because Carol called,” to “Because Cory called,” to announce its snow days to families.
“She has given more than 28 years to WCS and is known, trusted and beloved by so many students, families, staff and alumni. I can’t thank her enough for her dedication and tireless work for all of us,” Golden shared.
Birdsong is responsible for creating the district’s communications department in 1997.
