The 2025 Golden Globes nominations have been announced, dominated by Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another .

The film, starring Leonardo DiCaprio as a former revolutionary struggling to protect his daughter from a vengeful military officer, landed nine nominations, including Best Screenplay, Best Director, and Best Picture.

The top TV show of the year in terms of nominations was HBO’s The White Lotus , which earned six nominations.

As always, the Golden Globe nominations are a mixture of worthy films and very strange choices. The Globes added a “Cinematic And Box Office Achievement” category recently, and this year they nominated Avatar: Fire and Ash — before it’s opened in a single theater and earned a single dollar toward any potential “box office achievement.”
