The Congress on Monday suspended its leader Navjot Kaur Sidhu after her “Rs 500 crore for CM post remark” kicked off a huge political row.
The suspension of Navjot, a former Congress MLA and the wife of cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu, was announced by Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring.

“Dr Navjot Kaur Sidhu is hereby suspended from the Primary Membership of the party with immediate effect,” read a one line suspension order signed and shared on X by Warring.
While the Congress has not cited any specific reason behind her suspension, the move comes after her recent allegations that “one who gives a suitcase of ₹500 crore becomes the Chief Minister.”
