NHS Fife has welcomed the tribunal ruling in the case brought by nurse Sandie Peggie, saying it was cleared of “all allegations … apart from four specific aspects”.

A tribunal ruled on Monday that the health board had “harassed” nurse Sandie Peggie by letting a trans woman use female changing facilities after she complained.

However, the tribunal also dismissed all of Peggie's claims against Dr Beth Upton, as well as the bulk of her claims against NHS Fife , along with ruling that Upton had “not falsely claimed that Mrs Peggie had been guilty of harassment”.

The 312-page tribunal ruling deals only with liability. A separate hearing to assess what remedy should be granted to Peggie for harassment will be held at a later date.
