WASHINGTON —

Kentucky Rep. Morgan McGarvey will be reintroducing a bill that would ban no-knock warrants across the country.

The bill is dubbed the "Justice for Breonna Taylor Act" and was initially introduced in 2020 following the botched raid in Louisville that resulted in Taylor's death.

Senate Bill 4 was signed into law in Kentucky in 2021 banning no-knock warrants.

McGarvey will be joined by Taylor's mother, Tamika Palmer, Sens. Rand Paul and Cory Booker and Reps. Yvette Clarke and Jasmine Crockett on Wednesday at 3:15 p.m. at the House Triangle.

The reintroduction of this bill comes shortly after former LMPD Det. Brett Hankison was found guilty of violating Taylor's civil rights. He was sentenced to 33 months in prison and is currently serving his sentence in New Jersey.
