A Chinese naval hospital ship has reached the Caribbean—where the United States maintains a strong military presence amid tensions with Venezuela—following a long voyage from the South Pacific for a medical mission, a Newsweek map shows.
The vessel, CNS Silk Road Ark , has been deployed for Mission Harmony 2025 since early September. The mission, expected to last 220 days, is set to see the hospital ship provide humanitarian medical services in the South Pacific, Latin America and the Caribbean.
