Drivers are being urged to put toothpaste on their car in December for two important reasons that can both help fight common problems when the weather turns cold. The minty tooth cleaning solution can be used to help stop your car from fogging up with condensation in winter.

Along with shaving foam and apparently onions, toothpaste has properties which prevent the formation of condensation on windows.

The trick is to rub a fine layer of toothpaste across the inside of your windows and windscreen, watered down, and then it will prevent condensation or ice forming (where the condensation freezes in very cold conditions).
