A 26-year-old Hillsboro man has died following a single-vehicle crash late last month in Northwest Portland.

Portland police officers responded to a crash in the 4400 block of West Burnside Street, near Southwest Arboretum Circle, at 8:06 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 24.

Officers found a heavily damaged silver 2006 Volvo XC70 station wagon facing west at an angle on the eastbound shoulder near a large tree.

The investigation revealed the driver was traveling east when he lost control and struck the tree.

On Dec. 4, the Portland Police Bureau’s Traffic Investigations Unit was notified that the driver, Dillon J. Walker, had died. His family has been notified of his death.

The crash marks the 40th traffic fatality of the year in Portland, police said. One additional fatal crash happened Friday,
