DEDHAM, Mass. —
Church leaders at St. Susanna Parish in Dedham, Massachusetts, will meet Monday after the archdiocese made a demand that they take down a controversial nativity display.
On the display was a sign that read "ICE was here," with Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus notably missing from the scene. Advertisement
A meeting regarding the display was originally scheduled for Sunday morning, but the parish council says they will now announce a decision on the display on Monday at 4 p.m., according to Rev. Steve Josoma.
The archdiocese says the church did not request nor receive permission for the display and that the church's norms prohibit the use of sacred objects for any purpose other than the devotion of God's people.
