On Monday, the Spitfires learned that captain Liam Greentree has been selected to the preliminary roster for Canada’s world junior hockey team. Article content Article content
The 19-year-old Greentree, who did not earn an invitation last year, will head to Niagara Falls for an 11-day camp that opens on Friday. Canada will bring a total of 27 players to that camp and eventually cut down to 25 players.
Meanwhile, earlier this month, A.J. Spellacy was one of 28 players named to the United States training camp roster, which will begin a nine-day camp on Dec. 15 in Duluth, Minn. Before cutting to its 25-man roster.
