A three-act weather system will prolong Green Bay's already frigid weather two weeks before the official start of winter.
The National Weather Service Green Bay has placed a band of Wisconsin from Wausau through Green Bay and Manitowoc under a winter weather watch. This area is in the path of a pair of clipper systems riding the jet stream from the Canadian Rockies that will breeze through starting Dec. 8, according to Rebecca Kurk, meteorologist at the National Weather Service Green Bay.
The systems will drop at least several inches of snow, then drag along a shelf of arctic air that could see high temperatures dip into the single digits over the weekend and plunge wind chills 20 degrees below zero, according to Kurk.
