Agartala: Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha today emphasized the diverse culture, tradition, and heritage of the Janajati community and said that the state government has taken initiatives to preserve and promote these cultural traditions.

Dr. Saha said this while addressing the inaugural session of the 20th State-Level Wangala Festival at Udaipur.

Dr. Saha mentioned that while nearly 700 Janajati groups reside across India, Tripura is home to 19 Janajati communities, each with its own rich legacy.

“The state government is taking targeted initiatives to preserve and promote these cultural traditions,” said Dr. Saha.

The event was organized jointly by the Department of Information & Cultural Affairs, Udaipur Sub-Divisional Administration, and the Tripura Garo Union.
