Alex Toth of Hungary

Newcastle United have been strongly linked with Hungarian wonderkid Alex Toth with the youngster grabbing the attention of scouts across Europe.

The 20-year-old already has nine senior caps with Hungary and is also attracting interest from Juventus but Newcastle have been alerted to his presence too. The central midfielder can play as a No 6 or a No 8 and has 51 first-team appearances for Ferencváros, notably shining in Europa League matches.

Toth fits the profile that Newcastle are looking for younger squad members who can challenge for places in Eddie Howe's starting line-up. Toth could cost as little as £15m but is contracted until 2027 meaning the Hungarian side have a slight degree of control on his asking price.
