MARRERO, La. —

A person is dead in Marrero following an incident involving U.S. marshals serving a warrant.

Sources tell WDSU that the incident happened along Constantine Drive in Marrero near the Lincolnshire neighborhood. Advertisement

It appears U.S. marshals were executing a warrant on a suspect in the neighborhood.

The dead person is not a law enforcement officer, and it does not appear that law enforcement shot anyone, according to a source.

There is a heavy police presence in the area as the investigation continues.
