(KRON) -- A 15-year-old bicyclist was dragged for blocks after being hit by an alleged DUI driver last week in San Mateo, according to the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office. The suspect, 24-year-old Brayan Lorenzo-Gomez, pleaded not guilty to charges in court on Friday.

Prosecutors said Lorenzo-Gomez was intoxicated on December 3 when he veered his car into the bike lane at Cottage Grove Avenue and South Norfolk Street and struck the teenage boy riding an electric bicycle. The boy and his bicycle were dragged for two blocks before the boy fell off, according to the DA’s office.

Lorenzo-Gomez drove his car for several more blocks with the bicycle still being dragged before he struck two parked vehicles, prosecutors said.
