COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (KKTV) - Several dogs, including puppies, were rescued from a burning building Monday morning.
The South Adams County Fire Department responded to a home at 80th and Krameria in Commerce City just after 7:15 a.m. on reports of a fire. Smoke and flames were coming out of the home when firefighters pulled up.
The two residents were able to get out of the house, but their pets were still inside.
“Crews ... rescued 10 dogs from the home, while four dogs succumbed to the fire,” the fire department said, sharing several photos of firefighters cradling the puppies. The surviving dogs were given oxygen.
Both residents were treated on scene for effects from the fire, then taken to the hospital for an evaluation.
