Duke football landed a spot in the 2025 Sun Bowl.
The Blue Devils (8-5) won the ACC championship by taking down Virginia, 27-20, in overtime on Saturday night. It marks Duke 's eighth-overall ACC title and first out-right since 1962. Despite winning the conference, Duke did not earn a bid to the College Football Playoff as it did not finish as one of the five highest-ranked conference champions by the committee.
Instead, Duke will take on Arizona State (8-4) out of the Big 12 in the Sun Bowl Bowl on Wednesday, Dec. 31, at 2 p.m. ET at Sun Bowl Stadium in El Paso, Texas (CBS). It will mark a rematch of the 2014 Sun Bowl, where the Sun Devils defeated the Blue Devils 36-31.
