Opening statements were set to begin Monday in a high-profile San Francisco murder trial.
Four years ago, the man affectionately known as "Grandpa Vicha" died in an attack that resonated far beyond the Bay Area. His death sparked outrage and became a flash point in the nationwide fight to stop Asian hate.
The suspect, Antoine Watson, was arrested less than a month after the attack. But years after Grandpa Vicha's death, his family still relives the pain.
