On Nov. 25, the U.S. Embassy in San Jose, Costa Rica , issued a “Security Alert” warning Americans of a rise in potentially dangerous crimes.
“The U.S. Embassy is aware of recent property crimes, financial crimes and robberies that have impacted foreigners in Costa Rica, including U.S. citizens,” embassy officials wrote.
