If there's any hope of the Indianapolis Colts' salvaging a season that appears lost with a season-ending injury to quarterback Daniel Jones, sportsbooks aren't sharing in that optimism.

After Jones went down with a torn Achilles in Sunday's loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Colts' odds to win the AFC and reach the Super Bowl dipped from +700 going into Week 14 (fourth best) to +5000 today (third worst) at BetMGM. The only teams still in the playoff chase with worse odds than the 8-5 Colts are the 4-9 Bengals (+8000) and 6-7 Dolphins (+75000).

This was a massive tumble for a team that once looked like the best in the entire conference.

Odds to win AFC

Indy's dip isn't much of a surprise given the team's new uncertainty at quarterback combined with its slide in the standings. After a third straight loss Sunday, the Colts are the first team out of the wild card picture, just behind the Texans who have the same record but currently hold a tie-breaker over Indy. And now, they have to turn to sixth-round rookie Riley Leonard at quarterback, at least until Anthony Richardson is healthy enough to play.

Nothing about that situation sounds promising.
