In his first speech after being appointed Pakistan's first Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), Field Marshal Asim Munir issued yet another warning to India, claiming that Islamabad's response would be even more "swift, severe, and intense" in the event of any future aggression.

In his address to officers following a guard of honour, Munir said, "India should not be in any delusion [as] Pakistan's response [in case of any aggression] will be even more swift and intense."

Munir described the establishment of the newly-formed Defence Forces Headquarters as "historic," explaining that it aims to enhance multi-domain operations through the unified system of the army, air force, and navy, reported Pakistani news channel Geo News.
