Howard's Appliance abruptly closed all its Southern California stores over the weekend, leaving employees and customers confused.
According to multiple reports, employees weren't notified of the closures until Friday.
Two women showed up for a home remodeling seminar at the Alhambra location Saturday morning and told Eyewitness News they received a text saying the stores were "closed as part of their corporate shutdown" and that the company
has filed for bankruptcy.
"I'm afraid now to even start going anywhere and engaging in any home remodel if the people that I'm buying the materials from closed shop, and my stuff is paid for, and it's supposed to be delivered then what do I do? What recourse do I have?" said homeowner and customer Regina Davis Falconer.
