Gene Simmons has opened up about the death of late his KISS bandmate, lead guitarist Ace Frehley .

Simmons told the New York Post that a series of “bad decisions” contributed to Frehley’s death at 74 .

“He refused [advice] from people that cared about him — including yours truly — to try to change his lifestyle," Simmons told the outlet.

“[He was] in and out of bad decisions. Falling down the stairs — I’m not a doctor — doesn’t kill you. There may have been other issues, and it breaks my heart," the musician continued. “The saddest thing — you reap what you shall sow unfortunately."

Frehley died on Oct. 16 of “blunt trauma injuries” to his head after an accidental fall in September, Rolling Stone reported citing a report from the Morris County, New Jersey, medical examiner.
