(WNDU) - The latest Associated Press men’s college basketball poll got a major shakeup this week, as only two teams remained in the same spots from last week.
Purdue, which had spent the past three weeks at No. 1, slid to No. 6 following its 81-58 home loss to Iowa State. Michigan moved up a spot from No. 3 to No. 2 for its best ranking since March 2021 and received 19 first-place votes.
A couple of other regional teams are trending down, as Michigan State dropped two spots from no. 7 to No. 9 while Indiana dropped out of the poll entirely.
While the Hoosiers are once again on the outside looking in, they received 18 votes in this week’s poll. Notre Dame also received four votes after picking up wins this past week over Missouri and TCU.
