LINCOLN, Neb. —
The University of Nebraska's name, image and likeness collective for the Cornhuskers said it "will begin winding down our operation."
In an email to donors, it said donor commitment has helped the university recruit and retain top athletes.
Originally announced in 2024, 1890 Nebraska contributions went to support NIL for student athletes. Donations could also be directed to certain funding options, like the Student-Athlete Experience Fund and more.
"We are deeply grateful to the Peed Family for their visionary leadership in establishing 1890 Nebraska-- a bold initiative that ushered in a new era of excellence and strengthened the proud legacy of Nebraska Athletics," Tyler Kai, Deputy Athletic Director of Revenue Generation said.
