Jammu, Dec 8: Kanta Sethi, the mother of J&K Secretary Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Achal Sethi and the wife of the late Comrade Krishan Dev Sethi – member J&K Constituent Assembly, passed away at her residence in Jammu, after a brief illness on Monday.

She was 82.

As per the family sources, fulfilling her last wish, her eyes were donated to give a parting gift of vision, on her behalf, to the needy.

Kanta Sethi, taking cue from her late husband, K D Sethi, too had pledged to donate her eyes.

K D Sethi in 2021, after his death, had earned the title of “J&K’s first eye donor.”

She (Kanta Sethi) is survived by her son (Achal Sethi) and a daughter Dr Poonam Sethi, Director, Family Welfare and grand-children.

Her last rites, which were performed this (Monday) evening at 4.30 pm at Jogi
