JAMMU: The Central Government Pensioners’ Welfare Association, Jammu (CGPWA) on Friday organised an Awareness Lecture on the Central Govt Health Scheme (CGHS). The Incharge Senior Medical Officer, Wellness Centre -2, Dr Shivali Sharma delivered the lecture listing the initiatives in the CGHS for the benefits of the beneficiaries. There are about 25000 pensioners CGHS beneficiaries in Jammu.

Dr Shivali informed that since September 2024, the CGHS has modified the referral system. Its validity has been increased from one month to three months. There is now no need for fresh referral if the Consultant of the CGHS empaneled Hospital on earlier referral, referred the CGHS beneficiary to two other consultants of the same hospital. Similarly, there is no requirement of referral
