Vice President JD Vance recounted a recent behind-the-scenes moment with President Donald Trump that is an example of one he will “never ever forget.”

While speaking at a Christmas party honoring actor Sylvester Stallone , Vance recalled that he was discussing “something really, really important” with Trump, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and another administration official in the Oval Office. He said Trump held up his hand in the middle of their conversation, saying, “No, no. Hold on a second. There’s something much more important: shoes.”

“He peers over the Resolute Desk, and he says, ‘Marco, JD, you guys have shitty shoes,’” Vance said on Friday to laughter from the audience. “We got to get, we got to get you better shoes.”
