NEW YORK (WBAY) - A piece of NFL and Green Bay Packers history just sold for big bucks at auction.

The Super Bowl I ring belonging to Packers legend Forrest Gregg sold for $160,225 in the Lelands Fall Classic Auction on Saturday, according to the auction house website .

The sale was part of a larger collection of Gregg memorabilia that brought in more than $400,000 total.

The 14-karat gold ring features a single large diamond circled by a bezel reading “1966 World Champions Green Bay Packers.” Engraved on the sides are Gregg’s name and uniform number 75, the scores of the game, the years of the Packers’ four championships in the 1960s, and a banner reading “Harmony Courage Valor.”
