Authorities have identified the 70-year-old man who was hit and killed by a car in Southington over the weekend. 

Ralph Gulla, 70, of Southington, was walking along Queen Street near Walmart around 9:20 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, when the car struck him, police said. He died at the scene. 

Investigators believe Gulla was trying to cross the street when the car struck him. 

The driver remained at the scene and is working with investigators. No charges have been announced. 

But the crash remains under investigation.
