LEBANON, Ore. - The Lebanon Fire District (LFD) swiftly responded to a structure fire just hours after wrapping up its Volunteer Fall Fire Academy, according to fire district officials.

LFD authorities said that six new volunteers had just completed their final live-fire training, making them ready to tackle real emergencies. The fire broke out in the 31000 block of Waterloo Road. The large number of volunteers at the station enabled a quick response. Reaching the fire was difficult due to the residence's steep, narrow driveway. LFD managed to get one engine and one tender up, while personnel and equipment were shuttled using staff vehicles.

Despite these challenges, firefighters quickly contained and extinguished the blaze. Crews stayed for about three hours to ensure the area was safe.
