STATE COLLEGE, Pa. — On Monday, Penn State fans got to hear from new football coach Matt Campbell for the first time.

The former Iowa State coach was officially introduced at a press conference in Happy Valley in what athletic director Pat Kraft called "a pivotal day" for the program.

"We've found the right person," Kraft said during his introduction of Campbell. "Today the program emerges tougher, clearer, and more driven than ever before. We're introducing a leader who embodies everything Penn State stands for. He's a builder, a fighter, a standard bearer of what this place can be at its very best."

Campbell, who battled his emotions from the start of his introduction, called coming to Penn State "a dream come true" and thanked Penn State's administration for the opportunity.
