German forward Franz Wagner avoided a major injury after going down in Madison Square Garden against the New York Knicks .

As officially confirmed, Wagner suffered a high left ankle sprain and is expected to miss 2–4 weeks.

An MRI brought positive news, showing no structural damage to his left leg.

Wagner has been one of Orlando’s top performers this season, averaging 22.7 points, 6.1 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 24 games after a strong EuroBasket 2025 run with Germany.
