A former employee of Michigan’s Unemployment Insurance Agency and her ex-boyfriend have been sentenced to federal prison for stealing more than $250,000 from the state.

Timeka Johnson and her co-conspirator Ray Anthony Eddington were sentenced Thursday, Dec. 4, for their roles in an unemployment insurance fraud conspiracy, according to U.S. Attorney of the Eastern District of Michigan Jerome F. Gordon Jr.

Johnson, 44, was sentenced to three years and six months in prison while her former boyfriend Eddington, 45, was sentenced to serve three years. The former couple pleaded guilty to identity theft, wire fraud and conspiracy.
