135 movies and TV shows are blocked on Netflix for subscribers to the platform's advertising tier, as of December 2025 (see full list below). The streaming era began with Netflix, but the giant has still been impacted in the increasingly competitive landscape. The ad tier was launched in November 2022 and has always been hindered by blocked Netflix Originals and licensed titles.
As of right now, 1.74% of the total Netflix library of 7,751 titles is blocked for ad-tier subscribers, the trade-off for a lower subscription price, along with having to watch some ads that occur throughout a movie or TV show. This is actually notably lower than when the ad tier first launched, with 5.1% of titles blocked. However, it means missing out on many experiences.
