Alina Habba, Donald Trump's ethically challenged TV lawyer and courtroom chaos goblin, has resigned from her brief stint cosplaying a U.S. attorney, a position a federal court recently ruled she never had the legal right to occupy in the first place.
Habba's resignation came a week after the 3rd Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals upheld a district court judge's ruling that found her ineligible for the top prosecutor's job because of the circumstances of her appointment.
Habba and Attorney General Pam Bondi said that Habba would remain at the Department of Justice as senior advisor to the attorney general for U.S. Attorneys. Bondi also said the DOJ would continue "to review" the appeals court ruling.
