Defense lawyers for Darnell Jones have formally announced his intent to assert a mental-illness claim that would disqualify him from any death sentence arising from the alleged murder of Kei’mani Latigue.
The brief notice’s filing Monday in Lucas County Common Pleas Court follows by a week an order from Judge Michael Goulding formally appointing Dr. Jonathan Sirkin for any required mental health evaluation.
