BRUNSWICK, Mo - A warrant has been issued in Chariton County for a Brunswick man connected to an apartment fire over the weekend.
According to a probable cause statement, Chariton County fire crews and Brunswick Police responded to an apartment fire at around 5:45 Saturday morning. A woman residing in the apartment was located later that morning in a nearby ditch and taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Multiple witnesses reported seeing a car belonging to 59-year-old James Henry Watts III both leaving the area shortly after the fire was reported and then circling the area. The fire had reportedly originated from Watts' apartment unit.
A Brunswick police officer attempted an investigatory stop of Watts just inside Carroll County. Watts became agitated during questioning and drove
