ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Michigan football played its final two games of the regular season without one of its six captains, and there remains little explanation for it.
Linebacker Ernest Hausmann was absent from the Wolverines’ win at Maryland on Nov. 22, and then never showed up for the team’s regular-season finale against Ohio State. His whereabouts remain unclear, though head coach Sherrone Moore has tried to say a thumb injury against Northwestern played a part in his absence.
Still, Hausmann’s erratic social media activity in recent weeks has provided a cause for concern, with the Michigan linebacker suddenly launching a spiritual podcast, posting cryptic messages on social media platform X, only to deactivate the account days later.
